About the Position:Full-time, tenure-track assistant professor, beginning September 2012. The Department of Engineering Technology at Western Washington University (WWU) invites applications from candidates in electronics engineering technology.
About the Department:The engineering technology department includes programs in electronics engineering technology, manufacturing engineering technology, plastics engineering technology, industrial design, and vehicle design. There are thirteen full-time faculty and 530+ undergraduate majors. The electronics engineering technology program has three current faculty and 100+ majors. Detailed information is available for the electronics engineering technology program at . Position Responsibilities:Position responsibilities include: teaching courses in electronics engineering technology, continued curriculum development including laboratory development, student advising and recruitment, professional interactions with colleagues and industry, accreditation activities, student club and professional development activities. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a relevant program of scholarly activity and to participate in department and University development activities. Required Qualifications: * Masters of science degree (received from an accredited institution prior to the starting date) in electrical or computer engineering or engineering technology or a closely related discipline * Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: * Recent, relevant industry-based professional experience * PhD in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related discipline * Ability to teach EET core courses and service courses along with upper division courses in one or more of the following areas: power electronics, electromechanical, instrumentation, or embedded networking * Demonstrated experience in electronics product design, development, testing, applications, or manufacturing * Successful prior teaching experience * Ability to work with a diverse student body and staff Academic Emphasis:Electronics Engineering Technology Job Location:Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA
