Description

Assistant Director of Teacher Coaching
The Assistant Director of Teacher Coaching (ADTC) ensures that all Mastery teachers receive the support, coaching, and training required to consistently deliver high quality instruction and produce breakthrough results. The ADTC works with the Director of Teacher Coaching to ensure Mastery Charter is at the national forefront of intensive teacher coaching. The ADTC is a member of the central office Academic Team and reports directly to the Director of Teacher Coaching. The ADTC provides ongoing support to Principals, APs, teacher-coaches and professional developers.

Key Responsibilities:
TheAssistant Director of Teacher Coachingis responsible for:

* On going refinement and innovation of the teacher coaching model
* Supporting implementation and management of:
* An instructional coaching model across schools to measurably improve teacher and student performance.
* Instructional coach accountability and management systems
* Co-designing and implementing summer coach training and on-going coach support initiatives
* Designing and communicating coaching protocols, interventions, and best practices through trainings, meetings, communication, and the intranet
* Directly managing some central instructional coaches
* Working closely with the Director of Coaching and Director of PD to ensure coaching and PD are aligned
* Working closely with the Curriculum team to ensure coaches have ample curricular knowledge of the Mastery model

Qualifications:
* Results-oriented individual – a flexible thinker willing to do “whatever it takes.”
* Belief in the Mastery Charter School mission and instructional model.
* A ferocious desire to provide our students with a world class education.
* Strong familiarity with instructional and professional development best practices.
* Strong administrative background that reflects effective leadership, management and communication skills.
* Detail-oriented and highly organized.
* Zest and a sense of humor.
* Experienced a high level of measurable success working with urban youth.
* A minimum of three years experience in teaching.
* A minimum of three years experience in teacher coaching and professional development.
* Familiar with PA State standards as well as SAT and AP programs.

The ideal candidate:
* Strong instructional background with measurable and significant classroom results
* Data driven and backwards planning approach to instruction.
* Ability to write valid assessments.
* Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong analytical writing skills.
* Has experienced a high level of measurable success working with urban youth.
* Is familiar with reading intervention and special education programming.
* Has zest and a sense of humor.
