Asia University America Program (AUAP) Non-Tenure Track Faculty Vacancy Pool


About the Position:The Asia University America Program (AUAP) at Western Washington University maintains a roster of ESL instructors actively interested in and available for teaching positions within the AUAP.  In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year, applications are accepted continuously for temporary part-time and full-time appointments.  Positions may become available at any time and are typically filled on a five-month basis.

About the Department:The WWU Asia University America Program is an English language and cultural orientation program that has been developed cooperatively with Asia University (Tokyo, Japan), CWU, and EWU. During this five-month program, students from Asia University attend AUAP/ESL courses at Western in Integrated English Skills, American Cultural Studies, Global Issues, and Physical Education. AUAP sessions run from September to mid-February, and late February through late July.
Position Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:For ESL instructional and curriculum coordination positions, priority consideration will be given to those candidates holding a Master's Degree in TESL or Applied Linguistics and successful teaching experience abroad.  Candidates without the Master's Degree who have had ESL teaching experience abroad, study in a foreign language, and coursework in second language acquisition will be considered.

Salary:Depending on education, qualifications, and experience.  Funding for positions in the AUAP is subject to an annually renewable contractual agreement with the program's sponsor.
