Title: ARCHITECT Location: Missouri-St. Louis TALX is looking for a talented Software Architect and Developer to guide the technical approach and methodology of Software Developers and Systems Engineers. The Architect should have the ability to advise and influence decision makers in areas of business vision, business value and technology roadmap. The Architect will perform a variety of complex tasks and rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Candidates should have expert level knowledge in architecting, planning, testing, deploying, and supporting ongoing operations of critical projects.
Responsibilities Include: * Produce and Evangelize Development Guidelines, Methodologies and Direction * Unit, Regression, Stress and Load Testing Requirements and Guidelines * Specification Reviews * Code Reviews * Application Development * QA Communications, Change Impact Assessment and Test Plan Development * Coordination of cross product development activities * Infrastructure Usage Planning * Data Modeling Reviews * Application Design * Design Reviews * Security Reviews * Promotion Management * Developer Guidance/Support * Assist with candidate interviews * Assist with preparation of project estimates * Operational support and troubleshooting Minimum Education/Experience: * Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience * 5 years experience in software development, using object-oriented principles and design patterns * Experience with multiple core technologies used by TALX Product Development (Microsoft .NET Platform; C# and ASP.NET, versions 1.1 through 3.5), including database platforms (Oracle 10g/11g & SQL Server 2005/2008 & Informix) and application development suites * Proven expertise at the Technical Team Lead and/or Senior Development Engineer level * Fluent in database design/re-design, both in new and existing models * Experience migrating and porting applications from older platforms with minimum disruption
