Alumni Relations Officer (Advancement Officer B - Pay Band 9)
Title: Alumni Relations Officer (Advancement Officer B - Pay Band 9) Location: St. George (downtown Toronto) Other Locations: Under the direction of the Senior Development Officer, the Alumni Relations Officer is responsible for a wide range of activities that engage and involve the Faculty's alumni in meaningful ways. The incumbent is responsible for the planning and implementation of effective fundraising and donor development activities, special events and alumni relations programs. The incumbent is also responsible for the administration and evaluation of all programs, services and activities of the Alumni Office.
A key focus of the Alumni Relations role is to provide leadership and execution for the annual fundraising program, helping to maximize the Faculty's reputation and philanthropic support through alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students and industry partners. The Alumni Relations Officer is responsible for alumni outreach programs that have impact locally, nationally and internationally, and for engaging alumni and strengthening their connection to the Faculty. (Minimum)
Education : A bachelor's degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience : Three (3) years of related experience with alumni affairs and fundraising, preferably in an academic environment. Experience with website design, event planning, and volunteer management is an asset.
Skills: Computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office. Knowledge of the University's DIS (Development Information System) is an asset.
Other: Exceptional communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills; tact, diplomacy, and discretion; ability to maintain confidentiality; organizational and analytical skills; strong planning, problem-solving, and time management skills; ability to balance the competing demands of routine work with the requirements of special projects; initiative; proven ability to motivate and manage volunteers; and demonstrated ability to work with senior staff and faculty in a fundraising capacity.
