Job Description
Summer 2012 Internship Digital Media Technical Product Manager
Our Mobile team develops industry-leading mobile products including downloadable applications, mobile websites, mobile alerts and messaging products, and mobile video. The Technical Product Manager intern will be an integral part of the Product Management organization, responsible for such key tasks as product requirements gathering and definition, functional and technical spec creation, project management, analytics and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have interest in developing products and bring a software engineering/technical web development background. This is an exciting role for a passionate sports fan and technologist with a can-do attitude. The successful candidate will work with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Designers, Engineers and Editors to create and manage the best digital sports experiences around the world. We are looking for someone who is passionate about sports, passionate about technology, skilled at development, and interested in developing product management skills.
Responsibilities
Analyzing advances in various mobile platforms (iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7) and developing new product ideas
Defining functional and technical product requirements
Diagramming use case scenarios and diagrams
Creating product dashboards summarizing features, key metrics and trends
Supporting Product Managers responsible for our Mobile applications, mobile web and messaging product verticals
Meet with our leaders in the mobile space to discuss product initiatives
Basic Qualifications
You must be currently matriculating within a degree program and in good academic standing; available for employment within 12 months of the internship. Graduation date of August 2012, December 2012, or May 2013. Intern must be able to provide his/her own transportation to and from work.
Preferred Qualifications
Software Engineering/Technical background, learning and working with a structured programming language such as HTML5, Objective C, C/C++, Javascript, ASP, JSP, PHP and other relevant mobile platforms
Good understanding of benefits and constraints of current Internet technologies and familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Flash, and DHTML
Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
A passion for emerging technology, new products and mobile!
A passion for sports!
Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Internship Information
10 weeks; 40 hours/week
Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary
Subsidized housing is available on a first come first serve basis for interns who live greater than 50 miles of work location
Authorized to work in the United States for any company
