Term Break Counselor Tracking Code 1006-417 Job Description * The Term Break Counselor works with students to remove obstacles and provide information on taking an official break between terms, while helping students determine if a Term Break is a viable option and on returning from Term Break to resume Active Status. * The Counselor makes outreach efforts to students requesting a Term Break, during a Term Break and those scheduled to end a Term Break to provide information and counsel: * Using a CRM (Customer Relations Management) system to track student data, counsel students and manage workflow * Using student record system (BANNER) to obtain information regarding student eligibility for Term Break option to accurately support counsel to student * Responding to student requests for information related to Term Break via phone and email * Identifying groups of Term Break students based on specific criteria for targeted outreach, especially during Term Break period (On Term Break Outreach) * Provide students with accurate information on WGU policies and procedures particularly in relation to Term Break * Work interdepartmentally to resolve student concerns as necessary and related to Term Break * The Counselor works within a Term Break team to facilitate communication about Term Break during Term Break as well as about Term Break starts and returns to support WGU Retention and Student Satisfaction goals: * Using a VOIP phone hunt" line to track calls (inbound and outbound) * Providing weekly updates during team meetings * Attending training as directed and available * Participating in professional development Required Skills * Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills. * Must be dedicated to excellent, accurate and efficient customer service. * Must be comfortable working with others mainly via telephone, have a clear speaking voice and a personable demeanor and telephone voice. * Candidate must have strong organizational skills and be able to work independently within a team to prioritize and complete work accurately.
