Requisition Number 13-0010 Title On-Call Substitute Paraprofessionals City Wethersfield Description Under teacher guidance prepares instructional materials, outlines and plans activities in assigned area and submits to teacher for review. Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques. Assists with non-instructional duties and class projects. Insures an orderly lunchtime for children with the support of teachers and oversees the after lunch period during recess duty to insure safe play with the support of other staff as appropriate. Toilets students in a manner consistent with accepted procedures. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students. Ability to read with comprehension and write effectively instructions and simple correspondence. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
