Functions/Duties of Position Audit and Advisory Services assists and advises the OHSU Board of Directors, President, Executive Officers, Vice Presidents, Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, Audit and Advisory Services Committee, business unit leaders, and all levels of management. Audit and Advisory Services, through the actions of the OHSU Chief Integrity Officer and audit staff, is responsible for assessing risks; recommending systems and procedures that intend to manage, reduce, or eliminate those risks; identifying gaps in policies and procedures that are critical to OHSU''s missions; facilitating the economical, efficient, and responsible use of resources entrusted to OHSU; and developing means for correcting and improving problems or issues of non-compliance that are identified in the audit process. The Staff Auditor performs and documents a wide variety of technical audits, advisory services, and investigations. This position will, under the direction and mentorship of the Audit Manager, perform and document audits and advisory services in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Practice Advisories established by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the Audit and Advisory Services Internal Audit Manual. In addition, the Staff Auditor will supervise support audit staff in the completion of assigned duties. The Staff Auditor reports directly to the Audit Manager. Job Requirements Required: A Bachelor''s degree in accounting, business administration, computer science, or related field. At least one year of auditing or compliance-related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education within a higher education uires working knowledge of internal auditing within a college and university environment, preferably in an academic health and science center. Working knowledge of compliance risks in research administration and hospital compliance issues. Demonstrated intermediate experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to exercise diplomacy, establish effective working relationships, and maintain a high degree of professionalism in dealing with OHSU management, faculty and staff. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Ideal candidates will be comfortable working in a changing environment. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to perform a wide variety of complex and technical audits, advisory services and investigations with minimal supervision and within established budgeted (Certified Internal Auditor)CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner)If certifications are not held at time of hire, the candidate will coordinate a schedule with Audit Manager to complete the requirements to obtain the certifications within a reasonable time period from hire date.
